Gary Morgan, founder of Morgan Planning Group, has been in the business since 1984. Gary was born and raised inWoodbury and spent his youth helping out on the family farm and learning the insurance business from his father, James, who was a successful agent. 

Over the past 26 years, Gary has continually expanded his knowledge and training, added staff and capabilities, and become a trusted resource for clients seeking services. He specializes in small businesses and currently has a database of over 5,500 clients.

Gary earned a BS in Business and a Masters in Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He holds designations of CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) from the American College. He also holds the FINRA Series 7 registration and is licensed in Health and Life insurance in more than 22 states.

Gary enjoys spending time and traveling with his two adult children, Leah and Scott. He’s also an outdoor fanatic with a passion for skiing and golf.

Jim Erickson has more than 20 years of life/health insurance experience and has been at Morgan Planning Group since 2005, focusing on sales and account management.

Jim stays in close contact with MPG clients, old and new–analyzing their needs, establishing appropriate products and services and monitoring closely to ensure that they are staying abreast of opportunities. He is a ready resource for answers and advice.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science from University ofWisconsin- Stevens Point. He is licensed for Life & Health Insurance and certified in Long Term Care (CLTC). He also holds a Series 6 limited securities license.

Jim enjoys biking, training dogs and classic cars, and is a member of Pheasants Forever & Ducks Unlimited.

Scott Morgan learned the ropes of his father’s business early–starting with basic filing as a child and continuing with part-time work during high school and college. Since 2007, Scott has been employed at Morgan Planning Group full-time, doing everything from developing employee benefit packages to auditing billing to establishing complex group plans.

Scott attended the University of Minnesota and is licensed for accident & health, life, variable life and variable annuities in the state of Minnesota. He also has his FINRA Series 6, 7, and 63 registration.

Scott’s hobbies include traveling, cooking (inside and on the grill), biking, golf and volunteering. He lives in Lakeville with wife, Sarah; cat, Milo; and bunny, Rocky.

Theresa has been with the Morgan Planning Group since 2008. She has an extensive background in problem resolution and customer service, which makes her the go-to person for a variety of daily challenges and questions.

Theresa is our resident expert on COBRA–working with our clients’ former employees to ensure that all their questions are answered and that premium payments are accurately made.

Theresa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and enjoys travel, camping and hiking, and making greeting cards for special occasions.

Alexandra joined Morgan Planning Group in July of 2011.  She is quickly learning the ropes and can handle employee questions and forms with ease. 

She has a diverse cultural background, which makes her a great point of contact for employees.  Alexandra processes our new employee applications, changes and terminations and maintains live census information.

Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of St. Benedict. Alexandra is licensed in the state of Minnesota for Health and Life.

Alexandra enjoys baking sweets, volunteering, and watching her brother’s lacrosse games. 

Jan is the most recent employee to join Morgan Planning Group starting in September of 2011.  Jan has over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry. She will be managing renewals, answering benefit questions, and communicating with our groups. She will be using various document groups on Zywave to help employees and employers understand their benefits and utilize them in the best way. Jan is licensed in the state of Minnesota for Health and Life.

Jan enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
